When you think of Saltburn-by-the-Sea, it's hard not to picture the iconic view from the top of the Cliff Lift. But it's not just a beautiful landmark; it's also a great place for a quick surf check. The view from up there is perfect for checking out the waves on both sides of the pier.

And like a lot of people I’ve always loved this view and I'm fascinated by the Cliff Lift, its rich history, and how it was designed to transport people to enjoy the pier & beach down below.

My aim with this painting was to mix this iconic view with a surfer's ideal view of perfect, clean, uncrowded waves.
